Since its inception in 1994, Bauhinea Press has been engaged in the business of helping newcomers integrate into mainstream Canadian society. Our core business activities fall into five areas:

• Publishing. Bauhinea’s publications revolve around three topics that newcomers in Canada most care about: improving their English proficiency, getting a driver’s licence, and preparing for the citizenship test that they must pass to become Canadian citizens.

In September 2022, Bauhinea launched English Now, a multimedia magazine aimed at students in Canada who are learning English as a second language, as well as students who are planning to come to Canada for further studies.

• Multilingual Translation Services. Bauhinea provides translation services in 15 languages, notably translation from English into Chinese, Punjabi, Korean, French, Vietnamese, Arabic and Farsi.

• Graphic Design and Illustration Services. Bauhinea has been providing illustration and related desktopping services for more than 20 years. We specialize in creating driving-related illustrations which are extensively used in driver manuals in B.C.

• International Student Recruitment. Canada is renowned all over the world for the high quality of its education, and many overseas students are strongly interested in coming to Canada for higher studies. Our flagship multimedia magazine English Now will be able to reach millions of ESL students worldwide, and we are excited about the opportunities to recruit international students for Canada’s schools/colleges/universities.

• ESL Online Tutoring Services. Through our ESL publishing activities, we have built a sizable network of experienced English teachers in Canada, and the digital component of English Now is the perfect medium to reach ESL learners who are looking for one-on-one ESL instruction. These two factors enable us to find the right teachers/tutors to meet the student’s goals and needs.
